    Neat idea, but how do you keep the piece at the end of the bar in a 90 degree angle?

    I would make it slightly longer and then use epoxy to glue it in place as I think that would be more likely to keep the end piece at a right angle to the main bar.

    I guess you could drill the hole in the short piece offset to the edge and then mount it with the hole pointing towards the bar as then when you clamp the work piece in place that should straighten up the angle of the end piece to the main bar. One disadvantage is that you need to make sure that the holes are exactly in the centre of the main bar or it will tilt to one side when tightened up…
