I thought I was the only one to think of this a couple months back.
My husband was skeptical, but we’re glad we did this over the expensive metal version.
I didn’t think of the wedge, great idea!  I also didn’t think to paint the wood, maybe someday.
Also, love your hidden storage video, will be doing that soon.

LMAO!!! ? I just got into woodworking and seeing +Steve Ramsey there at the end lets me know I’m watching the right videos after all! Very cool system sir, with the VESA standard your mount now works on all TVs and Monitors. Lastly, French Cleats are amazing and a joy to work with they should be like the go to standard for hanging things on walls, thank you for taking the time sir for making these videos and giving people like me a chance to learn from your experience from a far. ?

I think French cleats are one of the greatest inventions ever. I really cracked up when you turned on the tv and it was playing Steve Ramsey. Keep up the humor, it’s greaaaaattteee!

Loved the video, I believe I am going to give it a go this week. I am not very handy and do have several questions. It is being mounted above fire place but the studs are 48 inches apart and essentially at the last quarter of the tv on each side. The tv is a 55 inch plasma. Would this configuration support this weight and do the studs being that far apart matter even though they are within the dimension of the tv? Thanks!!!
